For those who don't know, Modafinil is a drug used to treat people with Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea. Essentially it stops you from feeling tired, but doesn't make you go fast.

From what I've read on nootropic forums, it's a potent stimulant. As with all stimulants, a "cycle" period is necessary in order to prevent the drug from losing its efficacy. I think Modafinil is illegal to get in U.S./Canada without a prescription, although many people usually get away with ordering it from Europe. Adrafinil is another derivative with similar functions that is legal, but harsher on the body. Both drugs are pretty long-lasting, so it's important not to take it too late in the day, but early morning. None of this is from personal experience, but from what I've read online so take from it what you wish.
