Yearly "what the fuck you all up to??" thread

I'm living in Calgary Alberta now, I'm working at the airport expansion here doing some general labor, trying to find a job in the engineering field.

Y'all?

Biddykins 11-22-2015 05:11 AM

Recently married, trying for a baby, still doing the same job I was (department manager in a supermarket chain) and finally trying to get round to recording an album I've had written for over 10 years.

Dementor 11-29-2015 09:03 AM

Living in Las Vegas, NV happily married and have a 6 year old daughter. :)

breakfast 12-06-2015 02:41 PM

Working as a production engineer in oil and gas in NW Alberta. Feel free to come visit, Liam, I might be looking for a new roommate in a few months.

Hummer 12-15-2015 11:25 PM

I specialize in internet stuff now. I've met a couple of you guys in person, and work with one of you on a daily basis.

Oh come on! Don't leave us hanging on that, who is it?

EDIT: And who have you met? I've only met Chuck.

Haha, hey! I've met Kamil and Ted so far on a trip to Toronto, and I work with Colin (ohgar_boy) for some daily illustration work at my job.

Rick 12-25-2015 12:50 AM

I'm happily married to a 12 year old boy & living on a beach in Thailand.

EDIT: Apparently an old friend of mine remembers my login for this site.

In all reality, I'm living in California, working as a CNC Machinist / Programmer for a medium sized company. Pretty bored, but making a decent living for myself. Just got off probation this month, so there's that.

Nuke_is_Good 01-05-2016 07:27 AM

Working as an ER Nurse in a level 1 Trauma Center while paying for grad school for my Masters, after completing that I'm contemplating getting my Ph.D.

Are we not able to turn this community into something else entirely? o.0

Reddit and Facebook have pretty much destroyed discussion based forums, unfortunately.

Dementor 02-25-2016 12:54 PM

Any chance of all the programmers getting together and possibly start developing again? I'm pretty sure all it would take is one app to get it all alive again.

Diablo 3 bot for example :-p

Kamil 06-08-2016 04:00 PM

Hey all! I occasionally check this forum. I'm glad to see everyone still does the same!

I'm living and working in Toronto. I'm going to be a licensed lawyer in Ontario in about 10 days, which is pretty exciting.

This meet up was a really good time. We really hit it off the bat, and it was like we've been friends for a long time.

Just popping in to say hi. It's been 7 months since I've logged in, and 3 years since I've posted anything.

I've yet to really start a career. I make money usually with freelance graphical work (in Photoshop and somewhat with 3D modeling and rigging) and I'm starting to take IT seriously. I do a bit of writing, and maybe it'll go somewhere if I keep at it. If not, it's still a fun creative outlet.

But probably the most interesting thing is that in the span of a year I've lost 200 lbs. I'm up to 210 lost in total (13 months) and a lot of my medical problems have disappeared. All through diet. Yes I was that overweight. I still have about 75 lbs to go in the next 9 months or so.

I still talk to Arcadia on a daily basis.

All-in-all, I'm very different from who I used to be. I suppose that happens to everyone, though.

Right on man! I got into fitness/nutrition about 4 years ago and love it now. It's always good to hear a story like that, keep it up :D

That's amazing to hear! Having lost about 60lbs over a few years a while back I know how hard that was, so 200 is a massive achievement. Keep it up!

Bonzi 08-20-2016 12:21 PM

Sitting here waiting for an oil change and randomly thought about this place.

Going on 30 years old now. I'm the COO of the biggest ecommerce firm in Brooklyn. Making a very nice living.

Married for just over a year and have a little girl on the way.

I'm glad to see everyone is doing well. I wanna hear from Sheep and Iridium!

Yup, I'm still around, working in finance in London. Married almost 7 years already!

Would be good to know what Sheep's up to these days, it's been probably 10+ years since I last heard from him (that's pretty scary in itself). Anyone know how to get in touch with him?

Update time. Working in retail to pass the time and get some extra scratch while I tend to the bigger picture. It's the holiday season so the hours are plentiful for a while and taking up most of my time, but after the new year I'm going to shift to something a bit more serious.

I'm up to 250 lbs lost, now. Still plugging away, though it's starting to slow down.

PROGRESS!

How the fuck do I remember that your username was Fettboy?

Were you just preemptively a fetty wap fan almost 2 decades ago?

Still here in Washington. Miss you fuckers.

Do you do lawyer stuff now?

EM2915 03-12-2023 09:53 PM

2023, my goodness.

Ended up getting nabbed by the feds in 2012 for a fraud case that stretched on and on forever. Went to federal prison from 2016-2021. Got out and have been doing great. About to turn 32 years old, insane.

That's wild dude, glad you're out and doing well! And happy (belated?) birthday.

Hey everyone, I'm still in California, still in the engineering & manufacturing industry. Turning 34 this year, pretty crazy.
I still speak to Ceci now and then, other than that I don't really keep in touch with anyone else from here.

Had a huge wave of nostalgia hit, really glad to see the forums are still around. What's everyone else been up to?

Pretty recent selfie https://i.imgur.com/trjQTcO.png as well

Elite 08-22-2023 01:09 PM

This is wild. Never in my wildest dream I would of thought of returning to this place, let alone remembering my login credentials.

Had a nostalgic moment of 'lets look up some old game I used to play in 2002 aka Age of Mythology', ended up going down a rabbit hole of an old player forums of that game which looked abandoned. Instantly thought of this forum I spent my childhood summers on ;)

I really hope everyone is doing well, and thank you Iridium for keeping this place still alive after so many years.

Here's to another 20 yrs gents.

Also, wheres the neopets hacks at?

mikegold 09-07-2023 02:04 AM

Making new goals for future, :)

Verm0n 11-15-2023 08:41 AM

Still here and chilling like a mf

Cheers to the past, present, and the future!

Oh yea, if sccrnl (aim handle) is around. Feel free to reach out to me my old online buddy.

idiotproof 01-23-2024 06:58 AM

Hello! I never had a huge amount to do with neohacks though I definitely recognize most of your names (Neopian Hackers for life! heh). I have been reminiscing and thought I'd drop in and say hi :)

I remember cracking the copy protection on your bots, then cracking the DLL you started distributing after that. Alphasee was mad at you guys for some reason and leaked them -- sorry if I get you in trouble buddy (surely there's some sort of statue of limitations). I think I stopped hanging out here after having a bad response on a cookie analysis I had done, the foibles of youth! I wrote up some of what we were up to back in the day as a comment on pinkpt.com/?p=2973.

I got into security for a bit and worked on web stuff, including some at Mozilla. Then I co-founded a couple of startups which went pretty well. Now I'm preparing to launch my own web game platform, feels like coming full-circle. I hope I get to be mad (but not too mad) at the new generation of 13-year-old hackers!

It's lovely to see all of you kicking around, here's to the old days!
